The OMG reflections from Ron Bruni & John Pearring

Heaven is closer than we think

Heaven is open, Christ is with us, and we never walk alone

By Ron Bruni

Angels are not myths or merely poetic symbols. Sometimes we recognize God’s protection only after the danger has passed. Sometimes we recognize His guidance only after we reach the destination, and sometimes healing does not mean every illness disappears or every sorrow is removed. It means that God enters the suffering and prevents it from separating us from Him.

Ron Bruni’s reflections: “The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech, but I will tell you clearly about the Father.” (John 16:25)

It’s been 100 years

Louise, the holy marker of Mother Mary in my life

By John Pearring

Lindy, Molly, Laurie, Mom, and Lisa

Click here to read John Pearring’s reflection from September 29, 2026. Here’s an excerpt:

Mom was a bit untouchable. Reserved. Lauren Bacall and Jackie Kennedy demeanor. Not aloof. Just naturally cool. Staring into the distance threw us off. She wasn’t paying attention to us, we thought. But a “Harump,” or a “Tsk tsk,” reminded us that she had magic radar, jotting down a history we won’t get to review until we sit down with her in heaven.

John Pearring’s reflections: He said to them, “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)
