Christian faith fulfills Jewish law
The King of Tyre is said to have been in the Garden of Eden (Ezekiel 28:13)

The Pharisees attached themselves to the Old Covenant, while Jesus was establishing the New Covenant. The Pharisees were religious separatists, while Jesus’ proclamation of God’s kingdom was open and inclusive, with God’s mercy and love for all. The Old Law stands in stark contrast to its fulfillment in the New Covenant: freedom in faith in Jesus Christ, who alone liberates us from sin and death.
Steve Hessman’s reflections: “Amen, Amen. Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” John 12:24
Why is Law and Order held in such high regard?
The Pharisees were attached to law and order

Humanity likes law and order. Civilizations thrive with law and order. The growing child does better in an atmosphere of law and order. So it should be no surprise that the Pharisees were attached to law and order. What is it about Law and Order that it should be held in such high regard?
Steve Hall’s reflections: For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:9)
