Ezekiel often extended God’s messages through symbolic, dramatic presentations. For example, in Ezekiel 4:1-8, he built a model of Jerusalem and laid siege to it for 390 days, representing the years of Israel’s sin. These actions served as powerful visual representations of God’s judgment and the consequences of disobedience.
John Pearring’s reflections: He said to them, “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)

From even a cursory glance at the Gospels, we recognize that images and storytelling were Jesus’ most common method of instruction. Obviously, Jesus also gave words of instruction, such as telling Peter that he must forgive his brother seventy times seven. But then there is the account of the Prodigal Son, and we have to ask which - the words or the story - has the greater impact on the heart.
