Because Jeremiah prophesied Jerusalem’s destruction, he was persecuted and beaten. He warned the people of Judah that Divine punishment would occur because of their idolatrous practices, false prophets, and their disobedience to the covenant God made with them. The people had rejected God, but Jeremiah pleaded for mercy.
Norm McGraw’s reflections: He said to them, “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)

Be attentive to the authenticity of what you believe. This is not a message to be taken lightly, particularly in our day. The ‘father of lies’ has a firm grasp on what many pronounce as truth, as well as the truth they would have us ignore.
Steve Hall’s reflections: For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:9)
