Why do we do the good that we do?
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works”
By Steve Hall

Do we really believe that “a person who is generally good, or does enough good things for others, will earn a place in Heaven?” Rather, “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17).
Steve Hall’s reflections: For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:9)
Jesus’ divinity is astonishing
“Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?”

Click here to read John Pearring’s reflection from January 13, 2026. Here’s an excerpt:
We tease the Pharisees about their poor grasp of Jesus’ divinity. How did they not see it? Consider, however, that the divine natures evident in Jesus rattled them to the core. A man cannot be God. This was their understanding, a foundational definition of who God must be, and who we are not.
John Pearring’s reflections: He said to them, “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” (Luke 10:2)
