Perfection conjures up images of a perfect diamond, a perfect gymnastic performance score, the perfect dinner, or the perfectly written reflection. Most of the time, perfection is beyond our reach due to limitations in our skills, training, opportunities, or determination.
What would perfection look like to God? In the strictest sense, one would have to be able to reply, “I am” to the question, “Are you the Christ?” This suggests that we will never attain perfection.
So, what can we do?
Steve Leininger's reflections: For our knowledge is imperfect and our prophecy is imperfect; but when the perfect comes, the imperfect will pass away. (1 Corinthians 13:9)
They gave themselves first to the Lord
... and to us through the will of God

Giving money to the Church involves our tithes, random donations, and financial support for ministries (Pro-life, children’s catechesis, the Knights of Columbus, having Masses said for the dead, etc.). All of these are holy moments that involve dollars and cents. The money throws us off. I’m not saying it isn’t essential. There’s something else that precedes and follows the money.
John Pearring's reflections: He said to them, “Ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest." (Luke 10:2)
